Walking barefoot along the white terraces at Pamukkale with our two children is the bit that keeps replaying in my mind days later. The spring light made the pools look almost unreal, and the kids loved feeling the warm water running over their ankles while we looked out over the valley. The guided wander through the ancient theatre at Hierapolis was a bonus – our guide used little stories so the children could picture life there, which I appreciated. The journey from Marmaris was a bit long and the coach felt full, but the breakfast pack and regular stops made it manageable. Overall, it was a gentle, memorable spring day away from the beach, and the photos of the travertines are already on our living room wall.
