Brilliant. Went in with fairly modest expectations and came back pleasantly surprised by how much was packed into the day. The open-top bus made the countryside feel very immediate – you catch the pine smell and the cool spring air as you climb into the hills. Saklikent Gorge was the standout for me; even just paddling at the edge of the icy water was great fun with our group. Lunch by the river was simple but tasty, though the queue for drinks was a bit slow. Guides were organised, kept things light, and gave clear tips about the optional rafting and mud bath without any pushy sales pitch.

Future travellers, go on an empty stomach. My partner and I did this in January and the riverside lunch was a lovely warm break from the cool breeze on the open-top bus. The chicken was simple but tasty, and the fresh bread kept coming – we ended up mopping up every last bit of sauce. Drinks were extra, but the apple tea was perfect with the chill in the air. The ride up through the hills and villages felt really fun, though the bus was a bit crowded at first. Saklikent Gorge in winter is quieter, which we actually liked, and the guide mixed light facts with just enough bad jokes to keep everyone smiling.

For anyone considering this tour in winter, it was better than we expected. Our small group of friends loved riding on the open-top bus through the hills, even with jackets zipped up tight. Saklikent Gorge was quieter at this time of year, which made it feel more relaxed. Lunch by the river was simple but tasty, though drinks being extra did add up a bit. The guides kept things light and organised, especially around the optional rafting and mud bath area, so we never felt rushed. Overall, a well-run day out away from the resort strip.

Felt more like a day out with a bunch of mates than a tour, which suited our little group perfectly. Everyone on the open-top bus was chatting, swapping suncream and laughing every time we hit a bumpy bit. The stop at Saklikent Gorge was brilliant for cooling off after the dusty roads, and lunch by the river was simple but hit the spot. Only downside was a bit of faffing about while some people sorted optional rafting, but it just gave us more time to natter and enjoy the views.

The moment the open-top bus pulled up outside our hotel right on time set the tone for the whole day. With two kids in tow, I really appreciated how clear the pickup arrangements were and how the guide double-checked everyone before we set off. The drive out towards the mountains was smooth, with plenty of little photo stops, and the children loved standing up (safely) as we rolled through the villages. Saklikent Gorge was a real highlight and we were glad we had proper shoes, as the path can be a bit slippery in autumn. Lunch by the river was simple but tasty, and the transfers back to Fethiye were just as organised. Only small downside was a short wait while some people finished optional rafting, but it was handled calmly and we were kept informed.

Almost didn’t bring a jacket and was glad I did – the breeze on the open-top bus in autumn was fresh but the views were brilliant. Rolling through the mountains and little villages felt like watching a film, especially the drive towards Saklikent Gorge with all the golden trees. Lunch by the river was simple but decent, just a bit of a wait while our big group was served. Guides kept the mood fun and the whole day flew by.

Went in with fairly modest expectations about the organisation, but this day was run very smoothly. Pickup from our Fethiye hotel was right on the stated time, and the coach was more comfortable than I’d assumed for an autumn day of driving. The change from coach to the Dalyan river boat was straightforward, with the guide clearly explaining timings so no one was left guessing. Having set times for the mud baths and then Iztuzu Beach meant the day never felt rushed, even with a larger group. The only downside was a slightly long wait while people bought drinks before we left the beach, but overall the logistics made it an easy, relaxed day out.

The first thing that hit us stepping onto the coach was the soft whirr of the air conditioning against the heat outside – such a relief on a July day. My friend and I actually enjoyed the journey itself just as much as the stops. The drive from Fethiye wound through pine-covered hills, and the guide pointed out little villages and explained the history behind the rock tombs we later saw from the Dalyan river boat. Cruising along the river with the engine humming quietly and the reeds brushing past was incredibly relaxing. The transfer times were reasonable, though the coach felt a bit full on the way back. Still, everything ran on time, and being picked up and dropped back at the hotel made the whole day feel effortless.

Warm air, the low hum of the boat engine, and the smell of the river reeds set the tone for the day. Went solo and spent most of the time chasing the light for photos, and this trip really delivered. The best shots were from the Dalyan river, with the rock tombs catching the late afternoon sun, and later on Iztuzu Beach where the sky turned soft pink over the flat, empty sand. The mud baths were good fun, if a bit crowded, so there was some waiting around. Still, for photography and golden-hour views, this was exactly what I was after.

Our guide Ali set the tone straight away with clear info on what was included and what would cost extra, which I really appreciated. Transfers from Fethiye, the river boat, and the mud baths were all covered in the price, so there were no surprises apart from drinks and small fees. The river cruise past the rock tombs felt like very good value on its own, and the time at Iztuzu Beach was generous. Lunch was fine but quite basic. For a full summer day out with transport and a guide, it worked out as money well spent for me and my partner.

Warm pine-scented air and the soft thud of the boat against the Dalyan River are what linger most a few days on. The slow glide past the rock tombs, with the guide quietly pointing out details, felt almost surreal, and Iztuzu Beach was wide, calm and wonderfully undeveloped. The only downside was the coach feeling a bit full on the way back, but the views along the lake and river more than made up for it.
