Unexpectedly smooth. A few days later, what I remember most is how easy everything was with the hotel transfer and the fast ferry, especially with two tired kids in the heat. Having the return ticket and insurance included made it feel good value. We spent hours wandering around Kos Town, from the harbor up to the castle, stopping for ice creams instead of rushing. Only minor issue: a bit of waiting in the sun at passport control both ways, so a hat and water are really necessary in summer.
