Went in with fairly high expectations from the photos and, to be honest, the terraces at Pamukkale were slightly smaller in real life than they appear online, but still very striking, especially with the softer autumn light. Our small group of friends appreciated having the entrance ticket and hotel pickup sorted, as it made the long day feel more straightforward. Walking barefoot across the warm mineral pools was a real highlight, and the ruins of Hierapolis were more extensive than we’d realised. The guide gave clear explanations without overloading us, pointing out details like the old theatre seating and how the thermal water was used in Roman times. The open buffet lunch was on the simple side, but there was enough choice and it broke up the journey nicely. Only minor downside was the coach feeling a bit crowded on the way back, though the air conditioning did its job. Overall, it met most of what we hoped for and felt like a well-organised way to see this part of the country in a single autumn day.
