Went in expecting a quick wander around an old town, but Kaleici was far richer than that. Our small group spent ages exploring the narrow cobbled lanes and old courtyards, and the sea views near the harbour in the softer autumn light were lovely. The free time without a guide inside the old city worked well, as we could duck into little shops and grab a coffee at our own pace. Hotel pickup and the air-conditioned bus made the journey from Side easy, though we did have a bit of waiting at a couple of other hotels on the way. Kurşunlu Waterfall had a modest entrance fee, but the contrast between the greenery, cool air and the city streets made it worthwhile. Comfortable shoes and a hat were definitely useful for the amount of walking.
